Dr. James C. Walker
Jim Walker is the Executive Chairman of Zoomi, Inc. Prior to his role at Zoomi, Jim was a Partner at Accenture, LLP where he led the growth and strategy for a life sciences unit selling software and services. Additionally, Jim co-founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of Octagon Research Solutions, which was acquired by Accenture, LLP in 2012.
Jim is the recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the ‘Stevie Award’ for Most Innovative Company at the American Business Awards, and the Greater Philadelphia Alliance for Capital and Technologies (PACT) Enterprise Awards Technology CEO of the Year. Jim is a graduate of Villanova University earning a B.S. in Science Comprehensive. Jim also earned an M.S. in Environmental Science from Rutgers University, an M.B.A. from Duke University and his Doctorate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. His dissertation was an exploratory study on adaptability in the workplace.
Chief Financial Officer
Sergey Slipenchuk is the Chief Financial Officer of Zoomi, Inc. Prior to his role at Zoomi, Sergey was the CFO of Octagon / Accenture Life Sciences.
Sergey has held various executive finance roles in other organizations, including Octagon Research Solutions, Inc., where he was instrumental in the organization’s strategic exit. Octagon was sold to Accenture, LLP in 2012.
President and General Manager
William McColgan is the President and General Manager for Zoomi, Inc. Prior to joining Zoomi, William held several leadership positions within Liberty Mutual where he managed the PMO for an agile technology department, an Organizational change management function, and served as the first Director of Compliance within Personal Markets Claims.
As a principal at Mercer Consulting, he managed the corporate implementation of their Enterprise Risk Management program, and led the global deployment of mandated business reforms to all of Mercer’s broking operations.
William has consulted to international Fortune 500 clients in various industries in Ireland, Germany and the United States. Additionally, he has many years of experience working at the senior leadership level in entrepreneurial settings, including co-founding Blue Force Labs, a cyber defense company.
William earned his M.B.A. at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
Sr. Vice President Research and Development
Rick Bross is the Chief Architect for Zoomi, Inc. Rick has held both executive management and top technical positions during a career that has spanned 35 years.
Prior to his role at Zoomi, Rick held many executive positions managing geographically distributed Product Development teams, including at startups Tri Active and Altiris, as well as at large ISVs such as BMC Software and CA. As a member of senior leadership, Rick participated in the due diligence, integration, and subsequent management of a number of acquisitions. Most recently, Rick led projects to design and develop Big Data pipelines for the gathering and analysis of worldwide Internet Intelligence as a Senior Principal Engineer at Dyn.
Rick leads the Engineering and Operations teams at Zoomi, with responsibility for the architecture, development, delivery, and operation of Zoomi’s platform and products. Rick’s teams ensure that Zoomi customers further reap the benefits of advanced learning analytics by integrating the discoveries made by our ground breaking research teams into Zoomi’s products.
Dr. Christopher Brinton
Head of Advanced Research
Dr. Christopher G. Brinton is a Co-Founder of Zoomi and the Head of Advanced Research. His PhD thesis on enhancing the quality of student learning won the 2016 Bede Liu Best Dissertation Award in Electrical Engineering, making fundamental contributions to big learning data analytics, social learning networks, and personalized learning. He is a MOOC co-instructor, having reached out to over 250,000 students, and co-author of the book The Power of Networks: Six Principles That Connect our Lives, which has been deployed in Zoomi’s platforms to adapt to individual learners.
Chris received his PhD from Princeton University in May 2016, his Masters from Princeton in May 2013, and his Bachelor of Science from The College of New Jersey (valedictorian and summa cum laude) in May 2011, all in Electrical Engineering.
Director of Client Success
Caroline Brant is the Director of Client Success for Zoomi. With more than 15 years of experience in the learning and development sector, she has a deep understanding of resource planning, employee engagement, product development, strategic partnerships and training design and implementation.
Caroline has led the development of training programs for many Fortune 100 companies, including Google (Alphabet), New York Life, General Motors and Goldman Sachs. Using strategic insights and creative vision to tackle learning issues, she works closely with clients to identify opportunities for L&D to support business strategy.
Dr. Mung Chiang
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Mung Chiang is the Chief Technology Officer of Zoomi, Inc., and the Arthur LeGrand Doty Professor of Electrical Engineering at Princeton University. He is also the Director of Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education and Chairman of Princeton Entrepreneurship Advisory Committee.
An expert in network engineering and data science, Mung is the 2013 recipient of the Alan T. Waterman Award, the highest honor to young scientists in the US, given by the National Science Foundation to one person each year.
Dr. Sangtae Ha
Dr. Sangtae Ha is the IT Architect for Zoomi, Inc., and is an assistant professor of computer science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Previously, Sangtae was a co-founder and VP of Advanced Technology at DataMi, a start-up company delivering toll-free mobile data solutions. Prior to that, he co-founded EDGE Lab at Princeton University.
Sangtae wrote the codes that have become the default TCP in Linux kernel. A substantial portion of internet traffic and Android mobile traffic runs on his codes today.
